On February 25, 2010, Ambassador Fátima Veiga of the Republic of Cape Verde will be our Guest. Schedule include meeting with Center’s Executive Director Guy Djoken, Frederick City Mayor Randy McClement as well as other city, county and state officials.

Paid Internship Oversee for spring 2010!!!
We are currently seeking retired English teachers and bachelor graduates with English major for a 6 to 12 months internship oversee as UNESCO Center for Peace English Teacher Ambassadors. Acting as Center’s Intern and representative, the English Teacher Ambassador will provides English classes and assists the host school by nurturing global understanding among student and staff. Four Positions are available for spring 2010.

Amnesty International Human right Arts Festival
The first ever Amnesty International Human Rights Art Festival will be held in Silver Spring, MD (just outside of Washington D.C.) from April 23-25, 2010. This multi-venue, multi-media event will bring together artists, local businesses and politicians to use socially transformative art to raise awareness of human rights and justice issues, as well as the important work of Amnesty International. Official sponsors of this event include Amnesty International, Empowered women International, UNESCO Center for peace, and more. This event is produced by Artist Thomas Block.
